Tracy | Moonbeam: Hello Moonbeam lovers, welcome! I’m Tracy, Moonbeam ambassador in the Chinese market, I’ve long been an enthusiast of the Moonbeam ecosystem myself and I’m very honored to be the host of today’s AMA.

Today we will get to know more about the Linear Finance team from our guest Kevin Tai-project lead of Linear Finance and Chaotic Finance. Great to see you, Kevin!

Tracy | Moonbeam: Let’s get started!

Please briefly introduce yourself and Linear Finance, also Chaotic Finance, a community-driven delta-one asset protocol on Moonriver. Are there any differences between Linear Finance and Chaotic Finance?

Kevin | Linear/Chaotic: Sure thing! I’m Kevin Tai, project lead for Linear Finance and Chaotic Finance. Linear Finance is a cross-chain compatible (Ethereum & BSC), decentralized synthetic asset protocol to create, trade, and manage Liquids which are synthetic versions of digital assets, commodities, and indices.

Chaotic Finance is the team’s integration on the Kusama network via Moonriver. The main differences between the two protocols are that Chaotic allows users to trade with up to 4x leverage. The synthetic assets in Chaotic all allow users to trade both long and short positions.

Tracy | Moonbeam: Thanks Kevin for the introduction. Here’s the next question:

As an asset protocol, how do you think about the multi-chain deployment strategy, and why did you decide to deploy Chaotic Finance on Moonriver?

Kevin | Linear/Chaotic: From the beginning we knew we wanted to build on both Kusama and Polkadot, the question was how to do the integration in a manner that is easy? After doing some research the answer became pretty obvious to us: Moonriver and Moonbeam.

Given that Linear was originally deployed on the Ethereum network, Ethereum compatibility was a key factor in our decision. But I think most importantly, we believe in the team and people behind both Moonriver and Moonbeam. It comes as no surprise they have one of the most active ecosystems on their respective relay chains.

Tracy | Moonbeam: Thanks Kevin. Here’s the next question:

Chaotic Finance launched at the end of February on Moonriver. Could you help introduce Chaotic’s ecosystem? For example, Chaotic Exchange, Chaotic Buildr and cUSD?

Kevin | Linear/Chaotic: Sure… So as you mentioned, we currently have deployed two dApps: Chaotic Buildr and Chaotic Exchange. On Chaotic Buildr users can stake their $CHAOS (the protocols native utility token) and mint cUSD, our stablecoin. Users can use their cUSD to trade long and short positions with up to 4x leverage on Chaotic Exchange.

Looking ahead, we’re also exploring potential partners to set up an incentivized cUSD/WMOVR pool to ensure we attract liquidity and allow users to stake their LP. More on this to come…

Compared with centralized leverage platforms, what are the unique advantages of Chaotic Finance?

Kevin | Linear/Chaotic: Within Chaotic Finance roadmap is the creation of the Chaotic DAO. This will enable $CHAOS holders to help shape the future of the protocol. In addition, Chaotic Finance is decentralized so users with simply a wallet address can come and trade! Compared to other centralized leverage platforms, we believe this is a unique advantage that Chaotic Finance will have.

Whether it is to determine key parameters such as leverage levels or listing the hottest new token in the market, the Chaotic DAO will allow users to discuss specific proposals and vote on them to be approved.

Tracy | Moonbeam: Got it, Chaotic is indeed special. Next question:

What do you expect on the Moonriver & Moonbeam ecosystem?

Kevin | Linear/Chaotic: First of all we’d like to congratulate the team on the successful launch of Moonbeam on Polkadot earlier this year!

We expect both the Moonriver and Moonbeam ecosystems to continue growing. As more projects join their networks use cases and applications between protocols will become imminent. This will only increase the ecosystem’s attractiveness to new users who may be fed up with other networks’ high gas fees or unreliability.
